A KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER
Job Purpose:
To assure consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets in assigned division. This includes generating demand, identifying opportunities, acquiring new business, and maintaining relationships with existing clients. The Key Account Manager will handle high-level accounts directly while providing support to and driving growth for lower-level accounts with the assistance of the team. This role is accountable for handling Company’s top-tier Strategic client accounts and will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate the client’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met, and help the client succeed.
Job Outputs: (Key Accountabilities)
- Develop and execute account strategies to maximize growth and profitability for key accounts (pharmacies).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at key accounts, ensuring their satisfaction with products and services.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets set for both personal sales and overall account performance
- Lead negotiations for pricing, promotions, and product availability in alignment with company strategies.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the product portfolio, ensuring that all customer queries are addressed effectively.
- Training, coaching and mentoring of sales staff to improve overall team skills and behaviours. This includes correction of strategy and guidance on objection resolution.
- Submission of required reports within set deadlines to the Sales Manager related to team performance, divisional activities, projects in progress, successes and areas for improvement
- Maintain required team call rate/coverage targets through monitoring of SFE systems
- Utilising the SFE system and built-in reports to identify trends that are impacting sales performance and provide feedback to representatives for corrective action plans.
- Constant performance management of the team to ensure optimal sales delivery through coaching reports, feedback and formal DP World processes
- Assist the marketing team with forecasting of core products
- Monitoring sales activities and expense budgets in-line with targets
- Developing a thorough understanding of clients’ needs and requirements, formulating customized solutions and co-creating the client problem statement
- Leading key engagements with strategic clients to discuss/co-create opportunity to pivot client’s operations to new ways of working
- Be the lead point-of-contact to handle any escalation and resolve Strategic client issues and complaints
- To actively participate in company projects and initiatives assigned by management, such as Knowledge Lab, that contribute to the overall growth of the business.

- Research and refer new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present proposals.
- Assist in resolving day-to-day customer queries.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Life Sciences, Sales, Marketing or Business
Minimum Experience:
- 5+ Years in similar role

Skills and experience required
- · Minimum 2 years Key Account Management/Sales Management in the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical Industry.
- · Minimum 5 years sales experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is mandatory
- · Existing relationships with major pharmacy groups, hospitals and pharmacy groups
- · Previous record of above target performance for key accounts in the healthcare environment
